Revision Date 04/07/2010
Step 11.5 has been added. Step 15 has been changed. Step 17 has been removed and replaced with step 18. These changes were made to accommodate the new ZDA (Zero Dollar Authorization) method of enrolling card cards.
| 1.0 | If you use AIMsi to run credit card transactions you will need to decide if you are going to use the PayMover gateway or if you are going to use PCCHarge. You can visit this link to help you decide which product is best for your business needs. www.technology4retailers.com/t-aimsiv9features.aspx |
| 2.0 | Contact your AIMsi Account Manager to obtain your new activation code and series number. |
| 3.0 | Make sure that you are on the AIMsi version 8.0 12/21/2009 update (su091221.exe). If not take the necessary steps to upgrade before proceeding. |
| 4.0 | Complete this step if you are going to use the PayMover software to run credit cards. Establish a merchant account with PPI. Alysha Alberts Payment Processing, Inc. (PPI) aalberts@paypros.com 800-774-6462 X3628 Or visit http://www.paypros.com/landing/Tri-TechUPG.asp If you are an existing PPI customer you still need to contact PPI to get a PayMover account setup and receive your new merchant token. You must receive a merchant token from PPI before you can proceed to the next steps. |
| 5.0 | Complete this step if you are going to use the PayMover software to run credit cards. It is recommended that you run the Remove Credit Cards program under menu option Modules>Customer>Utilities>Remove Credit Cards. This program will remove cards on file from customers that have expired cards, inactive rental or lesson accounts, or no account activity in the last X number of days. In later steps you will be running a process to store your credit cards in the Managed Payer Data System. This is called Card Enrollment. By running this step, you will speed up the enrollment process since it will not have to process as many cards. In order for a card to be enrolled it must be valid. Meaning it must be an active card and not have an expired expiration date. At the end of the enrollment process you will receive a list of cards that were not able to be enrolled. Removing invalid cards prior to enrollment should reduce the list of cards not enrolled. |
| 6.0 | Complete this step if you are going to use the PayMover software to run credit cards. This step will export any credit cards that you have on file for customers, Long Term Rentals and Lessons. In the AIMsi software bring up the Command Window by hitting CTRL F2. In the command window type the following and press enter to execute the command: DO V9EXPCC This will export your credit card information to a file named AIMsi\aimsiv9cc.txt |
| 7.0 | Make sure that you have a current working backup of your AIMsi folder and all sub folders. |
| 8.0 | Make sure that all computers stay out of AIMsi during the upgrade process. |
| 9.0 | If you are NOT going to use the PPI PayMover software be aware that continuing to the next step will remove all credit card information from AIMsi. |
| 10.0 | Login to the Member Portal and download the Version9.exe update file. www.technology4retailers.com/t-memberportal.aspx. This file should only be executed once. (Do not run this one on each workstation.) It will prompt you for the path to your AIMsi folder. After the files are unzipped it will prompt you for your Serial#, Activation Code and Series Number. (Note, if you are already using a pre-release of v9.0, you will not be prompted for the activation code and series number. The update will run similar to a regular interim update.) |
| 11.0 | Go into the AIMsi software as you normally would. You will see the updates flash on your screen. Once AIMsi is up, click the Run button on the AIMsi Software Update program. |
| 11.5 | For this step you will need to download and install the latest AIMsi version 9.0 update. |
| 12.0 | If you do not use AIMsi to run credit cards you are finished with the upgrade process. |
| 13.0 | Complete this step if you are going to use the PayMover software to run credit cards. Follow the instructions in the PayMoverSetup.doc file to get PayMover setup. This document can be downloaded from the account passport. |
| 14.0 | Complete this step if you are going to use the PayMover software to run credit cards. Make sure that PayMover is working properly by running a test card enrollment. See the section in the PayMoverSetup.doc that describes how to enroll a card on a customers account. |
| 15.0 | Complete this step if you are going to use the PayMover software to run credit cards. This step will import your credit cards that you exported earlier. For each of these credit cards an attempt is made to enroll the card with the Paymover Managed Payer Data System. This enrollment involves doing an authorization on the card for a zero dollar amount. If the authorization is approved, Paymover knows that the card is valid and will store the credit card information and return a token to AIMsi. Along with the token the last four digits of the card number, card type and expiration date is stored where the credit card information was previously stored in AIMsi. To do this go into AIMsi and bring up the Command Window by hitting CTRL F2. In the command window type the following and press enter to execute the command: DO V9IMPCC WITH 0.00 Be aware that the enrollment authorization is a transaction that is charged to your merchant account. Any invalid cards or other problems that prevent card enrollment will be exported to AIMsi\aimsiv9ccbad.txt. These cards should be researched and enrolled manually. Verify that the cards have been enrolled by checking customers, students and rentals to make sure that you see card information. Once you are satisfied that everything is working properly, you should permanently delete the AIMsi\aimsiv9cc.txt and AIMsi\aimsiv9ccbad.txt files. Important Note: Our tests indicated that it will take approximately 1 hour for every 2000 cards for enrollment into the Managed Payer Data System to complete the following command. |
| 16.0 | Complete this step if you are using PCCharge to run credit cards. Follow the instructions in the PCChargeSetup.doc file to get PCCharge setup. This document can be downloaded from the account passport. |
