Some users were receiving access violations and external exceptions while trying to view and print the Samsung 6500 PLU report, and the CRS 3000 Major Group, Sub Group and PLU reports. This was due to an SQL error. Some computers do not have complete ODBC drivers, which are required for SQL operations. To fix this error, download and install the FULL download. This will not overwrite any existing information already in Version 6!
The way that the Calendar is activated has been changed. A timer is now used, which sends a request once every minute to see if there is a pending schedule or a count down that needs to be started. This change mainly affects users with slower computers or computers with small amounts of available RAM.
PC/POLL also changed the way that V6 interpreted packets/blocks of information from the registers. In the past, a few registers were exiting a block before all information was obtained. Now V6 should read all of the information.
Modem retries have been added to Version 6. In the past, if the modem connection was not made on the first try, the modem poll would fail. Now we retry 3 times. Due to this change, users will notice more information being displayed in the Communications window.
Several things have been added to the Version 6 help files.
Users were previously not able to make changes to the TLU program. This is now fixed.
The CRS 3000 Time Range file now sends changes correctly. Previously, only the first start and end time were sent. Now, V6 sends all sets for every time setup (12, 24, 36, and 48). Users should note that in order to apply the changes to this area, they must hit the Post button.
The 6500 Tax Table area is now available for full file maintenance. Some users may have problems using the Tax Table area if they had previously used an older copy of Version 6. Those users will need to delete their tax table files and resave the program from the register.
On the 6500 1.72 ROM some users experienced a key violation when they polled the Guest Check report. This is now fixed. Note: In order to poll a Guest Check report, the user must have at least one open check in the register. In order to begin using this change, the user will have to create a new machine with a new Program ID. The reason for this is that the report parameters need to be changed, and these are only modified when creating a new machine.
The Samsung 6500 Clerk Time report has also been changed. The information we received from Samsung had a few errors, so we did some of our own investigation to help solve the interpretation problems. Users should note that we display the values based on the 60-minute S-Mode option, NOT the 100-unit option. If a user is using the 100-unit option, simple mathematical conversions can be done to compare the register tape to our report. For example, if the tape reads Time Worked = 0.30, our report would display 0.18. Multiply 0.30 by 60 minutes, and the result is 18 minutes. (Users should also note that V6 rounds to a small degree.)
The Search function on the NLU grid now works. In order to view the change, the user must delete the .db file in the Version Six Data directory and resave the program. Note: This grid requires the Post key to post edits.
The Sharp 750 Direct Key area is now operational. This will allow users to fully program their keyboards. It is recommended that the user save all programs before attempting to program the Direct Keys.
In the Detail area, users are given the option to program the key as PLU, Dept. or Unused. If a key is saved from the register as Unused, then the Detail area will not allow the user to modify the key. It can be edited using the grid, but this is not advisable.
An Unused key is a key that is reserved within the register. If the user tried to program the Direct Keys at the register, there would be an ‘X” in front of the key. The user would not be able to edit the field. Note: If a user changes a PLU or Dept Key to an Unused key, they will not be able to edit that key in the Detail area. If a user wishes to change it back, they need to hit the Cancel button in the Detail area and not Post the edit. Then, they need to make the change in the Grid, or save the program back from the register before they send the change to the register. (UNUSED Keys = key 73, 85-86, 96-102, and 108-145)
