Polling Software Advancements and Corrections by Build Number

  V7 Build 053 (7.3.1.053) – March 18, 2010 - Full Release Version

General Changes:

  • Version 7.3.1.053 is installed via a new install routine.  The software will now default to installing in C:\PCPOLL SYSTEMS instead of C:\Program Files\PCPOLL SYSTEMS.  If updating from an older installation the software will prompt users to move their data files.  If the new location is not desired please override the prompted installation location during the install process.  General installation notes:  before any installation update users should create a backup of all data files.  After the install is complete users should open the software and validate all report tables for all machines.  If large version jumps occur before the previous version and new version, users should also save all programs from the register to the software after the update.
  • Fixed the DNS toggle in the machine area not working properly.
  • Poll Type and Poll Area for Consolidates and Adv. Consolidates are now stored/loaded from an Ini file.
  • All registers -> Baud Rates dropdown now lists all supported baud rates, and do not list ones V7 Polling does not support.
  • All Registers -> Changed the way Port settings are edited for TCP/IP communication to prevent accidental changes.  Users can right-click on the port box to make edits on dynamic and static port numbers.
  • The Calendar Poll program now posts the version number of Calendar Poll to the CalendarStatus Log.
  • Calendar maintenance - fixed problem with duplicate schedules when moving a selected schedule to the available schedules list box.
  • Removed the Start/Terminal calendar button.  Set the reset calendar button to start calendar when calendar is not running.
  • The V7 Polling software now checks through all script, schedule and calendar lists when one of those events are deleted.  For example, if a script is deleted the software will remove that script from both the scheduling area and the calendar.
  • V7 Polling version info was added to the CommCtrl log.
  • Fixed issue where WorkFiles would appear in the same directory as auto exports. They are now always in the V7/Temp folder.
  • Fixed a/v error when trying to communicate via modem and the modem is turned off.
  • Fixed problem with the Tools menu disappearing after doing a custom export within Reports.
  • Reports area buttons and drop downs now work with multi-select options or prompt telling multi-options are not supported.
  • Fixed report module margin report - index off 1 on sort selection.
  • Custom Export -> Fixed an error involving I/O error 103 on scripted custom export where the target directory did not exist.
  • Custom Export -> Multi-selected reports now work as long as they are all the same type. (Otherwise, a pop up message is displayed for the user and the operation is stopped.)
  • Store Maintenance -> Records without a name, number, and/or ID can not be posted. Also new and copied records now have all of these by default.
  • Barcoding -> Classes are now sent to barcoding and can be included on labels. These can be used for anything. (Color, size, vendor, etc.)
  • Barcoding -> Improved overall efficiency in processing times.
  • Barcoding -> Redid Auto Size routines. They should now work on any label in which standard barcode dimensions will fit on.
  • Barcoding -> Reorganized main screen and added a few select all options to the UI.
  • A new zero report item delete program has been created.  This is program is a separate utility that can be used by the dealer to help reduce report table size.  It will delete all zero entry items for a selected report table.  Note:  This procedure will thus negate the ability of the user to run a zero sellers report.
  • Archive Agent -> The FTP Upload now aborts regardless if what is being processed when the Abort button is clicked.
  • A new button was added to Preferences | AIMsi Inventory Link to help users verify the setup of the links between Polling and Inventory.
  • Set up filtering on AIMsi linked stores only when displaying sales reports to export to AIMsi.
  • Changed Preferences so that when entering the AIMsi Sales export area the AIMsi settings are saved.
  • Fixed problem starting AIMsi from within V7 Polling when the Polling Data folder was different than the AIMsi folder.
  • Fixed problem with communicating with AIMsi Inventory with a new install - had to exit program then re-enter before creating items and sending depts.
  • Modified the compat file checks for AIMsi Inventory to use the last entry instead of the current V7 Polling entry.
  • A clear all machine links button was added to Preferences | AIMsi Inventory Link | Machine Links area.  This operation will delete all created machine links.

Sharp Changes:

  • In order to improve efficiency a logon procedure was added to the Sharp:  3500, 8x0, and 600/700.  The software will attempt to connect during the logon operation and if that fails all queued items for that machine will be automatically canceled.
  • Register defaults were added to the Sharp 520/530 PLU area when new items are created via AIMsi inventory.
  • If the Sharp 8x0 responds to polling with an unexpected message command the current event will be failed by the software.
  • Sharp 3500 -> Added a warning that direct connect and modems are not supported on this register.
  • Sharp 600/700/8X0/3500 -> We now allow the port setting for TCP/IP to be changed. (Note: This will only work with port forwarding.)
  • Sharp600 RS232 communications - fixed problem with the state machines not having any code to respond to an 'Unexpected Message' condition.  Now the polls will fail gracefully.
  • Sharp 600/700 -> Fixed calculation of the RJE wait time for a PLU report printed on the journal.

TEC Changes:

  • TEC1650 & 1595 - Added a record number field to the PLU program so that duplicate PLUs would not cause a save to fail.
  • Tec 1595/1650 -> When setting up scripts, fixed an issue where if the Terminal Connection table had not been saved, it was impossible to correctly set up program sends.
  • Tec 1595/1650 -> Script Items for program sends can now be edited.  V7 Polling allows edits of the IRC selection list.
  • Tec 1595 -> Fixed the PLU Delete program from always being an "Empty file".
  • Tec 1595 -> Fixed an issue with saving larger PLU files on slow computers over PC networks where the program would seem to time out near the end.
  • TEC 1595 -> Adjusted timing to work with WAN saves of larger PLU files.
  • Tec 1595 -> Added a warning that direct connect and modems are not supported on this register.
  • On TEC reports the software now displays the machine number from the terminal connection table within the report header.
  • In order to improve efficiency a logon procedure was added to the TEC 1595.  The software will attempt to connect during the logon operation and if that fails all queued items for that machine will be automatically canceled.
